If buyers actually read my site before they started plunking down money, Magnum Opus never would have funded. They went from absolutely abysmal art to pretty darn slick, and so the prototype I played did the finished game a considerable injustice. It’s a neat way to throw in an extra angle to make Magnum Opus more interesting, and that’s a definite improvement.. For all my regular readers, I apologize for the lack of jokes about dog poop or genitalia.

Pros:

Vastly improved art that actually makes it easier to play

Better rules and a few clean-ups make it flow better and play easier

The player abilities are a neat addition

If they had been smart, they would have sent me the game after it was funded, because now that it’s a finished product, Magnum Opus is actually a pretty cool game. That was really my biggest complaint with the pre-Kickstarter Magnum Opus – the design was so bad that it was hard to play the game.

JUST PAY TWO ANGEL FEATHERS AND A DROP OF DRAGONBLOOD

2-4 players

This is going to be a short review, because I already wrote about Magnum Opus once, and this is really more a way to tell you about the parts that are better now. Now when you play, you can take individual player powers that will let you learn from the other players’ experiments or otherwise have a bonus only you can use. I’m glad to see the considerable improvements, especially in the art department, and I look forward to play Magnum Opus again. The cards are completely readable, the art is professional and appealing, and the designs do more than just look great, they make it easier to play. Magnum Opus looks good now.

You can grab yourself a copy of Magnum Opus from Game Salute, and their price on it is fairly reasonable:

magnum_front_largePeople should stop sending me games before their Kickstarters are finished. Hiring apprentices is a lot harder when gold is not flowing like rain in a hurricane, and with the rules being a lot more clear about some of the oversights we made in our initial test, they didn’t feel so much like we were cheating.

They fixed the art. My first review of Magnum Opus (you can read it HERE) was something short of flattering. It’s so much better now, you may not even know you’re playing the same game. I compared the art to dog droppings and said the game had lots of ugly holes.

Cons:

Still not much interaction, just a deck-building race

There are also some nifty extras that we were missing because the game hadn’t funded yet. I’m in the process of cleaning my office and getting rid of the massive stacks of games I don’t want, and Magnum Opus is not joining the pile of dross that I can’t wait to expunge from my home.

They also appear to have fixed some of the gaming holes that irritated me so badly the first time I saw them (though I must confess that we played some of the cards incorrectly the first time, so the fountains of gold problem was actually our fault, and not the design)

With such a cut of cards the gain of 10 USD is not a wonder. In a minute I got my bonus but lost it in slots as quickly as received (betting 2USD per spin, so, this is not a wonder). I have to say that the registration and the casino deposit were made via online casino website, though it is possible also via the phone.

Mobile casino wagering results: I started playing with black jack. There is also something wrong with the doublings (perhaps, it is for compensation?). The doubles sprawled in equal parts – the half was a gain, the half was a loss. After that, as I usually do in PlayTech casinos, I rejected the bonuses (mobile casino support was happy to handle my request), made a deposit and started playing my favourite mobile casino games. The results were very interesting: 57 gains (!), 38 losses and 5 pushes. I must note that there were three losses at a time and 8 gains (with the only push deal in the middle). Perhaps, they rank second after Microgaming in terms of reputation and number of online casinos. The results were again odd: 14 pairs, 15 – two pairs, 12 treys, not a single street or flash and three fulls. The minimum stake, as it is in Microgaming software mobile casinos is rather high – two USD, so I had no choice but to playing this stake. Generally, it is an ambiguous result: on one side I have won a lot, on the other side – I have won too much as for testing the casino. Playtech mobile casinos have wider the range of stakes than it is in Microgaming mobile casinos – coins from 0.05 USD to 5 USD. One more pleasant detail is that visiting the online casino site I found a pop-up banner, promising 10USD no deposit mobile casino bonus. A rather obvious distortion in my favor, which gave me the gain of 33 USD. I played five coins of USD 0.25. XXL Club Casino is the best casino from the point of view of support. With doubling the results were not very impressive – I won only two out of seven deals (the probability of the gain at doubling is over 50%). The Company was valued 1 billion USD, which speaks about its high reputation and trust level. In some fantastic way my pairs turned into treys and full-houses, there is no other way to explain such statistics.

Videopoker was the second mobile casino game for the testing. The PlayTech has also one more opportunity to double just a half of the gain in the videopoker. The game was the standard “Jack or better” with a normal payment table 6/9. The number of blackjacks was within the norm, it was four. As far as I could find in the net, there are not so many mobile casinos using PlayTech software so far, but this company has always been distinguished by its active development, that is why I am sure that their quantity will increase sooner than later. . Three mobile casinos can be found with the PlayTech software so far: Golden Palace, Tropez Mobile Casino, XXL Club Casino.

The same as with the Microgaming, PlayTech is a large company, online casinos software supplier

There are many fantastic things out there that can be personalized with photos.

Household Binder/Notebook: This is another idea I got from Organizedhome.com, so feel free to check out the link to the right. You may decorate the index cards, or leave them plain.

Recipe Scrapbook that you add recipes to. Over the years, I got some recipes from her, and copied some down from her old cookbooks. I went through all of the recipes I had, browsed online, and typed up and printed out ones that I knew she would like. You can also add photos, like in a scrapbook.

Digital Recipe File is something different that might be a good idea for a gift. She can upload or print out any that she desires.

Gift Basket: I think gift baskets are a great way to group related gifts together in a presentable way. Type up and/or get together recipe files you have that she would like, and compile them onto a disc or usb flash drive. See the Martha Stewart link below for details. When she is done, she can keep it for herself, or give it to a loved one who would value it.

Pre-made Recipe Book that you write photos in. One gift she found very meaningful was a recipe book, full of her old recipes, as well as a few new ones. All you need for this project is a journal, a mason jar, and paper. Most of them have an envelope of folder to hold greeting cards for every month, and space to write down birthdays and other special dates.

Coupon Book: Either print out a coupon book template, or create your own. To see more information on this project, and print out the many journal prompts provided, click on the link to the right. Photo albums can be straightforward, and scrapbooks are for those who want to be more creative with the decorative paper, embellishments and captions/journalling.

Journal Jar and Journal: This is an idea that I have used once, and it is easy to make. If desired, embellish. It is a great gift for someone who likes to write, or who is very reflective. I have one myself, and I also put one together for my mother last year. This binder can have as many categories and pages as desired for an organized household: emergency list, phone numbers, addresses and birthdays, planner pages, household lists, finances, projects, recipes and menus, fitness, family and school, vacations. I think it is a good idea to come up with interesting things you can do for her (and I don’t mean Martha), and personalize the coupon book.

Digital Photos: Get together all of the photos from your digital camera or computer that she would like. To make it, buy a binder, dividers, protector sheets (if desired), and either print out some of the worksheets provided on the website, or type up your own. Get together photos you already have, or go through your digital photos for ones you want to give to her, and have them printed to put in the scrapbook or album. They can be about childhood, beliefs, traditions, family, or whatever else you think would be interesting. During one of those fierce storms in New England, her apartment was completely flooded, and she lost everything. A journal jar can just be a simple, decorated mason jar with slips of folded paper that contain questions or writing prompts, usually of a variety of topics. It is great for keeping track of important information and events. It came with many decorative papers, and two different size recipe pages to write the recipes on, as well as decorative subject dividers, plastic protector sheets, and embellishments.

Recipes: My Mom loves to cook and bake. If desired, you can write your own prompts.

The point of this gift is for the recipient to gradually take out and write the answers or responses to the prompts onto the journal, and by the time the jar is empty, the journal should be pretty full of information about her life and her views. In this case, you can either complete the scrapbook yourself, with recipes, photos, embellishments and captions, or you can give them what they need to craft it themselves (but maybe add a few of your own recipes, if desired, just to start the process).

Recipe Binder that you put together yourself. There are many ways to go with this idea.

Scrapbook or Photo Album: These are usually very cherished gifts. Fill it, or leave space for her to add more later on. The list goes on. Bonus: The same website also has information and worksheets to print out for Christmas! I have enjoyed using my personalized Christmas Planner for the past two years, and it makes the holidays much more organized, and easier to enjoy.. I found this idea on the Organizedhome website. All you need is a binder, a scrapbook, or a photo album, and paper to write or print out recipes on (either regular or decorative paper), and plastic page protector sheets. Save it on a disc or usb flash drive, and give it to her to do whatever she pleases with them. A few gift basket themes: Movie Night, Coffee or Tea Break, Spa Day, Gardening, Writer’s Basket, Sports, Baking, Breakfast, Ice Cream Sundae Party, Fruit, Beach, Aromatherapy, Gourmet Food, Soup, Popcorn, Snack, Spicy Foods, Game Day, Book Basket, Relaxing Bath, or Candle.

Greeting Card Organizer: For those who enjoy sending out greeting cards and keeping track of birthdays and other important dates, a greeting card organizer can be a pretty gift that will help them stay organized. I bought one quite a while ago. As a bonus, maybe include a gift card to a site or a store where she can get some of the photos printed out, or use it to buy a personalized gift with one or some of the photos. They come in many sizes, from ones that fit into your pocket, to binder size.

Recipe Box, either with pretty recipe cards or index cards that you can jot recipes down in

It was the first time that unit has made a profit since BofA created it in 2010.

Mortgages delinquent by 60 days or more dropped by half to 132,000 loans, the bank said.

Where the bank made the most progress was continuing to clean up delinquent loans and other trouble spots left over from the housing bubble.

The consumer banking giant earned $4.99 billion after payments to preferred shareholders, the bank said Wednesday, up from $2.04 billion a year earlier. In consumer banking, the bank originated $16 billion in residential mortgages, up from $11.1 billion a year ago. The bank said an increase in deposits, lower expenses and an improving balance sheet helped offset a decline in revenue.

The bank’s unit that holds troubled assets, known by the esoteric name of legacy assets and servicing, made a modest profit in the quarter of $45 million, compared with a $2.74 billion loss a year earlier. Revenue rose to $22.1 billion from $21.75 billion.. and are getting away from the legacy issues,” Bruce Thompson, BofA’s chief financial officer, said on a call with reporters.

The biggest drop in BofA’s expenses came in its legal costs, which plummeted from $4 billion to $175 million and were a big reason why the bank’s profits jumped from last year. Credit card issuance was the highest since 2008.

BofA’s consumer banking division, its largest business by revenue and profit, earned $1.7 billion, up modestly from $1.63 billion a year earlier. The bank earned 45 cents per share, compared with 19 cents per share a year earlier.

The bank also saw its businesses expand in many places
